"That's one small step for women diplomacy, one giant leap for humankind"

Dr. Guila Clara Kessous

Women in Diplomacy

NOW FOR TOMORROW

Created in Sweden and endorsed by a dozen countries, including Canada, France, Germany, Mexico and Norway, it consists of a State's promoting, through its diplomatic relations, ideals and best practices that target equality between men and women in all fields, including education, health and the economy, as well as the fight against violations of women's rights.

Women in diplomacy is essential for the younger generation, given the values it promotes.
It can inspire young people by showing them that women can take on important role models in diplomacy and influence global policies.

"It is time for women role model in diplomacy to inspire others and speak up for women's rights"

Purpose

Guila Clara Kessous

“Today, in our changing world, feminist diplomacy is no longer an option.

For those countries that commit to it, the positive impacts of women in diplomacy are significant, socially, economically and politically, both nationally and internationally.

I am convinced that by mobilizing the combined strength of women and men together we can build a more egalitarian and peaceful society; the kind of society we leave to our children.

Together, we will try to recreate a cartography of women participating on an equal footing with men, as men in the governance of the world.

So, thanks to my expertise and the support of many committed world leaders at my side, my aim is to get women and men in governments all over the world to sign the International Accords for Women in Diplomacy.

As women and girls represent half of the world’s population, they also represent half of the potential. A world of governance that will not take this potential in account, will miss the opportunity of running the world better for humanity in its hole.

This is an action that I take, an engagement to unite men and women to sign these accords, because they need to be applied. My grand-daughter will have a life without having to worry about competing with men, for her to get the same rights that men."
